The story — in my words

I wrote this one at a time when I felt like the world was spinning out of control and everyone was just standing around, waiting for instructions that weren't coming. I was tired of the 'old rules' and the same tired melodies. I wanted to capture that raw, electric feeling of just deciding to be the 'rebel guy' who leads the way onto the floor anyway. We tracked this with the intention of making the horns feel like they were punching through walls. For me, it isn't just about a dance; it's about reclaiming your pulse when everything feels heavy. We cut the vocals with that sense of urgency, trying to prove that you can dance through the wreckage and actually sing in the rain until things feel whole again.
