The story — in my words

I wrote this one while sitting on a cold porch watching the fog lift off the water, just as the sun started to hit the tin roof. I’d spent way too many years living out of a suitcase, chasing every map I could find, and I finally realized that 'home' wasn't a building—it was the person standing right there in the morning dew with me. We cut the track with that steady, rolling rhythm to mimic the river’s pulse. I wanted it to feel like that first deep breath you take when you realize you don’t have to run anymore. When we tracked the vocals, I kept thinking about that yellow engine humming in the distance and how good it felt to just let the map go.
