The story — in my words
I wrote this after a three-day run through the Hill Country where I realized that our food culture in Texas is basically its own religion. I was sitting in a folding chair in Lockhart with grease on my shirt and woodsmoke in my hair, watching people from every walk of life find common ground over a tray of butcher paper. We cut this track to feel like that first bite—heavy on the salt, a little bit of heat, and enough rhythm to make you forget about your belt getting tighter. It’s a love letter to those late-night orange signs and the bakeries where the bells never stop ringing. This isn't just about dinner; it's about that shared destiny we find when we pull up a stool to the pit.
