The story — in my words

I wrote this song after standing in the silence of a memorial site, trying to process the sheer weight of a number replacing a human soul. It started with that image of the wire drinking the dew—how nature just continues while such horror unfolds. I wanted to capture the desperate, frantic bargain a person makes when they love someone in a place designed to strip away every ounce of dignity. We tracked the vocals in a single, cold take; I didn't want it to sound polished or safe. It needed to feel like a prayer whispered through a fence. It’s a heavy piece, but I felt I owed it to the shadows and the names buried in the ash to tell this specific story of devotion amidst the cinders.
