The story — in my words

I wrote this song at a moment when I realized the life I’d carefully constructed was really just a house of cards. I was pacing those floorboards of a soul I didn't even recognize anymore, waiting for a storm to just take me out. We cut this in a session where I wanted the music to mirror that crash—the sirens, the iron hitting the bone, and that terrifying silence of a hospital room where you finally have to face yourself. It’s a heavy story about hitting the pavement at a high speed, but it’s mostly about that amber light that hits your chest when you realize you’re still breathing. I wanted to capture that feeling of being a complete stranger to your own mistakes and walking away from the wreckage toward something actually real.
