They All Hide Behind Their Mask ©

The story — in my words
I wrote this one while thinking about that feeling of finally paying off a debt that’s been hanging over your head like a dark cloud. I pictured Jade and me standing in some dusty, old-world assay office or a bank, sliding that heavy red rag full of hard-earned silver across a pine counter. There’s a specific kind of tension in watching a man in a starched tie judge your life through his spectacles. We cut this track to feel like that moment you burst through the doors and the air finally hits your lungs. It’s about the realization that once you stop playing by their rules and stop caring about their 'legends,' you’re finally free to take your shoes off and let the red dirt tell the truth.
