The story — in my words

I wrote this one while watching a late October rain turn the world into a grey blur. There was this old wool jacket I’d kept in the back of the closet for years—it still carried the scent of salt and things I didn't want to remember. I wanted to capture that precise moment of stasis, that 'purgatory' where you’re not quite here but you aren't ready to be there yet either. The silver ring in the lyrics was a real anchor for me; it represented the physical weight of a promise that had finally turned cold. We cut the vocals in a single take because I wanted that feeling of stepping through a door you can never go back through. It's about the relief of finally letting the fire turn to gold and walking away.
