The story — in my words

I wrote this after a particularly long week at the shop where I felt like I was literally choking on everything I wasn't saying. I was covered in metal filings, my jaw was tight, and my friend was waiting in the car with a busted dashboard speaker that could barely handle a bassline. We drove up to the old water tower overlooking the valley, and for the first time in years, I just let it out—no polish, no performance, just singing until the quiet didn't feel so heavy anymore. It started as a song about needing to be loud to feel seen, but by the time we cut the final vocal in the studio, I realized it was actually about the strength you find when the music stops and you finally have the courage to pick up the phone.
