The story — in my words
I wrote this one while sitting on an actual Greyhound, watching the world blur past and thinking about how easy it would be to just let the past dissolve in the rearview. The image of that yellow scarf caught in the wind became the anchor for the whole track. We cut the vocals in a single take because I wanted to keep that frantic, laughing energy of someone who’s finally reached their breaking point and decided to choose joy over debt. It’s a song about that manic moment of realization where you realize the 'icebox bills' don't matter as much as the dirt beneath your tires and the person you're chasing. We used a loose, driving rhythm to mimic the sound of a bus hitting the gravel at full speed.
