The story — in my words
I wrote this song at four in the morning when the line between being awake and asleep feels incredibly thin. I was thinking about that specific moment when you meet someone and it feels less like a new introduction and more like a long-awaited reunion. We cut this in the studio with a heavy focus on that shimmering, retro-rock energy—I wanted it to sound as big as that realization feels. To me, it’s not just about a crush; it’s about that 'home run' feeling where everything finally clicks into place. It’s that 'souls started off as one' sentiment. I wanted to capture the urgency of wanting to be fully present for a love that feels too good to be true, making sure I’m wide awake to live every second of it.
