Walls Are Closing In ©
by J. Michaels
The story — in my words
I wrote this on a Tuesday morning when the weight of my to-do list felt like it was literally narrowing the hallways of my house. I was pacing, feeling that familiar 'race against the clock' where every second feels like a strike against you. We cut the demo with a driving, steady rhythm to mimic that ticking clock, but I wanted the chorus to feel like a massive explosion of air—the moment you finally break through the surface of the water. It’s a song about that universal claustrophobia we all feel when the world gets too loud and too tight. For me, finishing this track was the only way I could find the exit and actually breathe again.
