The story — in my words

I wrote this song after one of those rare nights where everything just clicked—the kind of party where the door is always open and the kitchen is packed with people sharing their best and worst stories. I was watching my friend Sarah take over the dance floor while Mike was cornered by the bar, probably talking about high school football for the thousandth time, and I realized how much we need those spaces. We all carry these 'scars' and histories, but when the music starts and the hive begins to buzz, they just become part of the collective narrative. I wanted to capture that electric feeling of being exactly where you're supposed to be, surrounded by people who know your history but only care about the present moment.
