I wrote this one after I'd spent way too many years feeling like a gear in a machine that didn't care about my name. I remember the humidity hit me first when I finally walked away from that city life. Some of those lines—like pumping gas in New Orleans and that wild ride with a biker named Scorpion—those aren't metaphors; those were the real-world stops on my way to finding some peace. We cut this track with a heavy, steady groove to mimic the current of the water. I wanted it to feel like that moment you stop worrying about the money you're losing and start realizing how much life you're actually gaining. It’s a tribute to the folks living simple and true on the riverbanks.
