The story — in my words
I wrote this one at three in the morning when the house was dead quiet and my head was spinning way too fast. I was sitting on the back porch in East Tennessee, feeling that heavy weight you get when you’re physically there but mentally a thousand miles away. It started as a plea for some kind of peace, a way to quiet the noise that kept me up at night. We cut this track with a slow-burn build, starting with just me and an old Gibson before let the whole band swell in like a storm breaking. It’s a song about those moments when you realize you can’t carry the burden on your own, and you finally stop fighting and just ask for a little grace to get you through to the sunrise.
