The story — in my words

I wrote this version while I was sitting on my back porch in Tennessee, watching the leaves turn that deep burnt orange and thinking about the polished egos we always run into in this business. We cut the track over at a small studio off Music Row, trying to trade that original soft-pop polish for something a bit more jagged—think heavy telecaster twang and a drum kit that sounds like it's been through a few bar fights. I wanted to capture that specific kind of frustration you feel when someone is so wrapped up in their own reflection they can't even see the damage they're leaving behind. To me, it’s not just a cover; it's a gritty reminder that the truth always stays grounded even when someone else is off chasing eclipsos in a jet.
