The story — in my words

I wrote this one late on a Tuesday night sitting out on my back porch in East Tennessee, just staring up at those Appalachian stars and thinking about how some people just change your entire perspective. I wanted to capture that dizzying, weightless feeling you get when a relationship moves past the honeymoon stage and starts feeling like something cosmic. We cut the track with a lot of open-tuned guitars and a wide reverb to give it that airy, atmospheric feel, but kept the drums heavy so it still hits you in the chest. It’s my way of explaining that certain kind of energy you can’t quite put into words—the kind of love that makes the ground beneath your feet feel optional while your head is spinning in the best way possible.
